RRR RRR RRR what is this?

After installing new cpu onto motherboard this is what happens when booted. i can go into bios fine. but after that first screen the RRRRRRR appears..

im running p5n e sli with e7400

the "RRRRRRRR" ?
yes a whole line up top screen RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Are you using the latest bios? 1301 I think the last one was.
it worked fine before with the q6600..
The p5n e sli didn't support 45nm chips until the later bios
q6600 is a 65nm
so do i have to update the biios for it to work
maybe your "r" key is stuck down?

it sounds to me.that your mobo does not support that e7400

I dont know. What bios do you have now ?
If it is one of the older bios then I would suggest updating to the latest bios first and see how it goes from there.

Here just found this, it says you need 1301 bios

sounds good ill let you know tomorrow, if it works with the new bios.. i'm still runngin on the stock bios..

oh do you know where i can get an update on this.. tried updating it on the site, but not seemin to work. thanks

This worked for me, unpack and put the files on a usb flash drive, enter bios on boot and goto ez bios flash(i think,not at home on my own computer) and flash from the there

Yeah its EZ-flash.

Its in the tools tab.

But it looks like you need the 1301 bios for the E7400

Thanks +1 For you guys, I got it working. Not as fast as the quad core, but its running perfect for my daughter, I have to RMA my evga board now.. moving things around sure f#$% my board up.
