run game as window??

Is there any way to run a game in a window instead of maximized to the whole screen. Specifically Command and Conquer 3, I would like to be able to browse the net and talk on AIM while a mammoth tank army is building then to sit there and watch it.

Sure, Right Click, Properties, Replace the "+fullscreen 1" with "+fullscreen 0" in the target.

Your saying right click the shortcut right. Because there isn't a +fullscreen 1 in the target, it looks like this

"I:\\EA GAMES\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe"

and when I made it

"I:\\EA GAMES\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe +fullscreen 0"

it said it was invalid.
try -w or -windowed in the target line of a shortcut in properties

You mean this

"I:\\EA GAMES\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe -w"

or

"I:\\EA GAMES\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe -windowed"

with a space between .exe and the -xxxx
I think you place the extension outside of the quotations.

Ex. "I:\\EA GAMES\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe" +fullscreen 0

"I:\\EA GAMES\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe" -w

"I:\\EA GAMES\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe" -windowed

"C:\\Program Files\\Electronic Arts\\Command & Conquer 3\\CNC3.exe" -win

That is what you want.

Each game's flag for window mode is different so it is hard to find the right one some times.

sweet, that worked, thanks man. now is there a way to maximize that window to the whole screen? it wont let me change grab the edge of it and move it out or click maximize.

dont get me wrong, i like my FPS' (not so much of an mmo fan). But i have played cnc since it came out on PS1 (i was 5 or 6, my uncle introduced me to it). and since then, i have always played cnc.

Usually pressing "alt+enter" will maximize the game. The problem is it rarely lets you go back into windowed mode afterwards. The best you can do is change the resolution to fit your screen.

Starcraft 2 will hopefully pull back a lot of those who have gone astray. Especially for those of us with crappy rigs (part of the reason WoW is so accessible is because it runs easily).

Note: Don't use it for Warcraft 3. In order to scroll around you have to put your cursor exactly on the edge of the window. Too hard.

Command and Conquer doesn't support the resolution my screen runs. 1360x768.
Isn't there a program that you can play games as window? I forget the name though i remember seeing it somewhere.
