I guess it depends how much you're paying for it

It's pretty much a dead end upgrade, so keep that in mind.

Its really a lateral upgrade.

You'd get a performance boost, but it'd be a dead end upgrade. Save it for a C2D rig or something.
*edit*
Arg! Beaten to it

Exactly. Its a dead end upgrade, but it can be had for quite cheap. You'll notice a larger increase in performance due to the higher clock speeds as well as extra cache.

I doubt you'll get much more out of it than the OC you have now.

But I was thinking that it has a l2 cache of 1024KByte and the stock speed of the processor is 2.4ghz, so I would be hoping to get it up to 3ghz ish
Also the multiplier is unlocked

I doubt you would be able to get a Clawhammer 3700+ to 3 Ghz without phase.

If you can get a fair price for your current CPU then go for it, other wise I be hesitant.

Ouch... personally, I'd shy away. I don't see it being that much of an upgrade, for that price. Even after selling your current CPU, it's still a bit much.

I could get about 40euro or so for my current cpu off eBay, so it would only cost me about 40euro then, which isnt so bad!

Considering I got my San Diego 3700+ for 55 USD...

I don't think it is worth it. Those 80 euro can go towards a new rig.
