Hello everyone I just wondered which anti virus is best and doesn't makes PC slower.the problem is disk cleaners or anti viruses sometimes removes some vital system files or registry keys or some programs after virus scan don't work.for example my Kasper anti virus deleted a file as torjen than blue screen started to comes after booting and couldn't able to boot vista again so had to format it.looking for a anti virus that has everything and doesn't have risk after deleting the files that it detects as virus or Trojan.
thanks for advice and sorry about bad English

Avast is very popular (that's the one I use) but Avira gets better reviews at times. Both are free and great choices.
AVG has served me well for several years. I sometimes run Spybot to clean out any crap. AVG doesn't do exactly the same thing as SpyBot so they compliment each other.
AVG + CCleaner + MalwareByte's AntiMalware (every week or so) have been treating me just fine.

I like Avira more and it's a bit better than AVG IIRC, but it won't accept my exceptions so I had to uninstall it cause I have some goodies on my rig that it detects as viruses when they aren't (Cain, GoldenEye, etc). If it actually accepted the exceptions I input then I would use Avira.

If you surf the web intelligently and don't open .exe or .bat files from shady sites the chances of getting a virus are pretty slim.
Norton 2009 hands down.

All the test I have seen show it to be the best. Also, I have run this on many systems, and have yet to have any false positives; unlike AVG or NOD32 (things like Computer utility kit that has some tools that are hated by the cheapo free AV suites).
Thanks everones for advice.just one more question.my friend is using Trend micro internet security. Is is good and safe?and if i use avg should i use free version or avg internet security
NOD32 without question.

NOD32 slows down the system that's why i removed it. When idle (sometimes) it uses %100 CPU and decreases my FPS in games.

Get Avast. It is best FREE antivirus for now.

nod32 is awesome. I used it for a couple years with zone-alarm pro. They work great together. I used to use counterspy, which almost always caught something during a scan. Since then they have evolved into sunbelt personal firewall (formerlly kerio), improved it immensly, and integreted it with counterspy's succesor, vipre anti-virus~anti spyware.

Pretty small footprint for what it does, $30 for the package. I still think very highly of nod32 though. It was just too much for 2 $40 programs.
About nod32, i would see that after being on for awhile, the footprint did grow. I couldn't tell if it slowed down my system, but it used more memory after some time. I don't know why it did that. I saw it right in task manager.
But this sunbelt setup doesn't do that. I even had to turn off web filtering on the firewall cuz some pages loaded painfully slow. This is because IE7 has it's own web filtering, so both together was too much.

No, Nod32 will NOT delete important files from your system. It's just a really great anti-virus. I would still be using it now if it didn't cost $40. But it's worth it. I'm on a budget and can't afford renewing ZA AND nod32 for $80 every year.

It has stopped me a few times from clicking on links that it "saw" had malicious code in it.

NOD32 is awesome, I haven't had one infection in over 2 years. When it does detect a virus on a webpage or anything it just blocks it before it can infect anything.

As for memory usage, NOD32 3.0 currently uses 42mb on my system.
