Hey gang...I have my conroe multi up to 13, and voltage around 1.375. Iam trying not to crash the orthos dual torture test...My core temps are around 57C at the top end....my quesiton is this...what is the ideal range for air cooled overclocked cores on the conroe 6800?

Also, does that vcore voltage look good?

first off you are well within your means voltage wise too get more out of her, she can safely take around 1.45v-1.5v. on air (good air system) TT,scythe...ect.....

as for the limits of temp, I would'nt push her past 60F conroes run a little hotter than a p4/PD so it is normal too see a little bit of a higher core temp, but if you see it go any higher than 60-63 i would check your seating of the cpu and maybe reaply some AS5

Thanks man....I am actually amazed...I set the multi down to 12, (up from the stock 11) and set voltage all the way down to 1.225. I am able to pass orthos running full load each core with core temps around only 44C

That depends greatly on your definaition of "safe"..........60c is the limit for a stock CPU, 55c is a more reasonable limit for a overclocked (but not over-volted) C2D.....and his temps were already over that threshold and it was, albeit mildly, over volted.

If the CPU will not be expected to work after 12 months, then "safe" can be more loosely listed.....
