I'm building a system for a friend for as cheap as possible, and I happen to have one of these PSUs at home. Will this be powerful enough to run an Athlon II 245 and an 8800gt with a PCI-E adapter without any problems?

You think it will be okay with a molex-to-PCI-E adapter? Any downsides to using one of these?

this psu has two 12v rails so it'll handle that GT no problem......i've installed and ran an 8800GTS 512MB and C2D E4500 off a 380watt Antec with molex to 6pin in Antec Aria case.......got a little warm but was ok for hours on end.....sold the rig to a friend.......he still uses it and plays alot of TF2 and COD on it......no issues

I mean its not the absolute best supply, but if you have it, no point in getting a new one. It will be fine
