Hello OCN!

I recently decided, that yet again, I was bored of my PC!

So I sold off all my perfectly decent 775 parts, and began doing a little homework on what could be my new machine.

I decided on a 1156 setup, as I wanted one a few months earlier, but simply did not have access to the funds.

In the end, I chose the following items and ordered them!

• i3 530
• ASUS P7P55D PRO
• 4GB 1600Mhz G Skill Ripjaws
• Another 7200 500GB Seagate for RAID 0 and a 250GB Maxtor for backup
• ChilledPC sleeving
• White Heatshrink
• Lots of wire, so I can connect my front Vandal Switch to my Clear CMOS header
• Thermalright Venomous-X, with two Zalman ZMF-3's for Push/Pull
• Scythe Kaze Master Fan Controller

With all of that due here on Tuesday, I decided to make a start on modding my case, and first up was the the CMOS switch, and I thought I would grab a few shots of my board too (Since it came early)

The Project:
Part 1: 14/3/10 - Motherboard, CMOS Switch
Part 2: 15/03/10 - GPU Reseat and ram sinks.
Part 3: 25/03/2010 - Build as of now

Update 1: 14/3/10 - Motherboard, CMOS Switch:

My impressions of the board are that it is very high quality!

Removing the fan header's on my trusty San Ace!

The vandal switch. It is meant to be a orange led in the center, so we will soon find out when I get it all together

I made a bit of an error, and used too big of a holesaw, but adhesive came to rescue and it now sits perfect

And the other side, the terminals, I cheated somewhat here and ordered a premade cable for it, and as Oli would call me, a Lazy modder

The inside of the case with the holes I cut for extra cable management.

Update 2: 15/03/10: GPU Reseat and ram sinks.

Reseated my 5770 with Freeze and applied ram sinks.

The rest of the parts are due tomorrow, so major update then!

Alright lads!

Well, it is all together now but had a new niggling issues

One of my 500gb drives is dead, it is a 7200.11, with SD15 firmware, so RMA'ing off to Seagate now.

Cathodes dont work, must be a wiring issue.

Other than that, all is good!

Will get pics up later when I am back from college!

Apologies for the lack of updates!

One of my sticks of RAM was faulty, which has caused me a lot of trouble, and I am RMA'ing monday morning. However now on my rig, pictures and ocing time coming up!

Should be able to push 4.3GHz remeber to stick below 1.4v on the Vcore because these 32nm Chips tend to die quick with voltage that excesses 1.4v

Good Luck mate i know you have been getting worked up about your i3 530 just trade it for a newer or better model

both in the same price bracket

Or splash the cash and go for

Core i7 860
