Same ppd with SMP or without

I am folding my two 4830s with gpu2. They put out about 24-2600ppd each. When I run SMP, their production drops so much, the amount my q6600 is folding barely evens out running without it.
What is up with that?

You need to set the priority and affinity so that SMP doesn't choke off the GPU client.

Use setpriority to make the fah_core11/14 higher than the smp. I use realtime and hardly notice it most days.

I have been reading some about that. I saw a proggy listed here somewhere that did both, but am having trouble finding it again. I'll keep looking and reading. Thanks for the direction.

TBH I never change affinity, but I am using a VMware Linux client and was told it was bad for these to change affinity. I think the one your talking about is setaffinity

The ATI client use more cpu cycles, so you need to assign smp to 2 cores while giving the ATI client own core.
