Hi,

What are peoples thoughts?

I have the choice of the 840 250GB or the 840 Pro 128GB

I will have my Operating system and dota2 installed (or whatever game(s) i play most often).

Which will be the best option or won't it really matter?

currently i have 1 500GB 7200 Samsung Disk.

Thanks

Go with the Samsung 840 250GB...
Not enough to make a difference for the average day user.
Get the extra space. Also prices for the Samsung 840 256 GB are great now

2nd what hyperkite said. With an X58 board/SATA 3.0GB/s connection, you'll be capped with either one (except maybe the 840 read). Plus, 128GB isn't really that big and SSD performance starts to decrease as they fill up. Lastly, the 250GB 840 prices right now are great as mentioned. Only $150 w/ free ship at B&H if you purchase by March 2nd!

After all the updates and major programs you want to take advantage of the drive, plus a game or two, you're left with little to no space with a 120/128gb. Around 7% gets shaved off right off the bat (correct me if I'm wrong on that number) and Windows alone takes up almost 30 GB if you're on Win7. I tried it with my last rig and was not satisfied. This time around I went with the Samsung 840 250gb and couldn't be happier (unless it was a 1TB SSD
