I don't have u.2. in my motherboard but I have a m.2. pcie 4 adapter will come soon. Meanwhile I could use pcie3.0 adapter available now.

Do you have one of this drives? I used only samsung 970 pro in the past.

I have 3x Optane 900p 480GB pci-e x4.
