Go with the Samsung... It's a little cheaper and has a higher contrast ratio (black will be darker / white will be lighter) than the LG. The Samsung weighs a little less, which is not that big of a deal but, it also has less of a border around the screen which is always nice...

K another quick question. What about this monitor:
Samsung 740N
http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.p...ctID=6526&SID=

From what I can tell, its the same monitor, just not DVI. From what I've read, the difference won't be much on a 17in. display anyways? And it is $30 cheaper. $30 isn't that big of a deal, but if the difference is going to be miniscule anyways...

Get the one that supports DVI. Your eyes will thank you later.

Go with the Samsung, LG monitor's color dosn't look as good as the Samsungs in my own personal side by side obervations. Also, you do NOT want to run an LCD monitor through an analog VGA port, it ghosts like mad, and looks like ****. Monitors running through a digital DVI plug will be more responsive, sharper and have better color and contrast.

I would say the Samsung 740B due to its slightly better performance and like they said DVI is worth it. I'm planning on the same monitor. Don't know if you can get Newegg shipments in Canada but I found it there for approx. $270 CD so even if you can't you can probably find it cheaper than what you have linked
