Hey,my S2 portable 500gb has fell on the floor.It was a slow fall,but i'm still going to ask.
Can something happen to it?I was moving my lappy and forgot it was plugged in,i moved the lappy and the HD came too.I was like "oh noes" then it fell on my desk which is like 15cm away from it,then it moved a bit and started falling on the floor.Happily,when there was 1-2cm left to the floor,i managed to pull the cable.After that the cable got out and it fell from 1-2cm high :/

I'm searching for bad sectors right now with HD Tune 2.5.5.HD was 1 month old.
And my questions.

1)Since its a good brand like Samsung,will anything like disk move happen to it?
2)If it finds no bad sectors,it means its good,right?

Was the drive on and spinning when it fell? If so, there might have been damage. Otherwise non-operating drives have pretty big shock tolerances and the drive is most likely fine.
Even is the drive was on, if it turns on and populates it is also probably fine.

Why didnt you just let it dangle from the wire instead of unplugging it and letting it fall?
