I've been interested in server computers for a while now and I've come to the conclusion to update my dream server. So now I have recently heard of that Sandy Bridge is now in servers. So my question is which is a good one to have and can it be OC'd? (Would like to keep it below $300)

the lga 1155 SB xeons are the same silicone as the desktop with few changes
a) multiplier locked
b) some have had their igp surgically removed (the ones that end with a 0)
c) ecc support is turned on

other then that they are exactly the same, so unless you are getting a big pile of ecc ram there is literally no point in geting a sb xeon and if you actually were in desperate need of ecc ram you would be better off getting a 1100t and overclocking it since it is also ecc enabled and performs better OC'd then a non OC'd SB chip

I'm sorry but for me I prefer Intel builds

Any chance on the other Xeons in 1366 that are OCable?

out of 1366 i would look into either W36** or X56** chips (the latter being the dual socket capable) but keep in mind if you go with dual socket there is only one motherboard that supports dual xeon overclocking (the ever so notorious sr-2), they are quite pricy tho
