I might be googling the wrong terms, so sorry if this has been asked already,

but is there anything wrong with filling my loop with rubbing alcohol to make sure there's no bacteria or anything in it from my kitchen-sink testing with tap water? Corrosion? Wearing out gaskets?

I would then drain and fill it with the premix I'm going with - XSPC EC6 which supposedly doesn't need any help from me to stop algae and corrosion.

I've always just flushed the system with distilled water after running tap water through it

Its not the sanitation, its the absence of food and livable environment. Unless you are running operation room level clean space, you wont get rid of all the micro organisms.

Alcohol gets rid of all the stuff that is not water soluble, proper coolant mix will keep the pesky micro organisms dead.

Alcohol and Acrylic do not mix. If you have any acrylic parts (tops, reservoirs etc), you cannot use Isopropyl alcohol to do any cleaning/
