what was your aquamark and 3dmark scores before and after
thats not much of an increase anyway, but keep going in ATiTool, and find your max core/mem

Why does it only run at 4x? Sapphire 9600's run at 4x/8x, does your mobo not support 8x? The reason I ask is you are loosing a lot of bandwidth running at 4x compared to 8x.

Which model Sapphire 9600 do you have? AFAIK, All of Sapphire 9600 series cards support 8X. Anyway I think that your biggest problem is that the card is running 4x.

Well the sims doesn't really rely on a fast video card to perform better. You would probably see a difference in an action game where the screen is changing constatly. Fps in the Sim, i would imagine, is kind of a non-factor.

He will notice a big difference in the sims if he were to upgrade to an 8x board...the new sims is quite render intensive. But it is not FPS intensive as you guys have stated.

Your 9600 256 meg overclocks are good, about as high as your going to go with a non-pro...I have the identical card.

It works fine for me with all the new games, would love to upgrade, just dont have the cash at the moment.

If you get a relatively inexpensive board with 8x capabilities, you will like the card all that much more.
