Hi just built my new build.. when I power up everything turns on but I have no display. At first I thought the GPU was dead but then I noticed that the connector wouldn't go all the way into the PCIe lane on the left side because of a frame on the back of the case (used to have slots for the GPU connectors).
The problem is I believe this metal thing on the GPU http://i.imgur.com/rehQCAI.jpg that prevents it from being pushed in all the way. Normally I'd just take pliers and rip it off but it's screwed onto the PCB so I have a hard time thinking that's a good idea. I was also going to just remove the whole plate on the back of my case but I can't do that because there are no screws to remove it.
So what exactly should I do about this?
Specs
ASRock 970 Extreme3
AMD FX 4100
Sapphire Vapor-X 7770
CM HAF 912
Corsair CX500
Like I said.. everything powers on (fans and whatnot) it's just there's no signal. (although trying a few times to re-arrange the card or hold it up a bit did result in showing up the ASRock logo while booting up but it was very temporary.
