I've been looking to upgrade my hard drive and want to get a SATA drive. I have a shuttle mobo and it doesnt have sata.

Would I be able to just buy a PCI sata card and run a sata drive??

Will it run at the same speed of onboard sata???

Recommend some cards please... links are appreciated.

Thanks.

Where at in West Palm Evil?? (used to live around there)

Any compusa and maybe even best buy will offer a PCI-sata controller.

The motherboard doesnt need to support SATA to use a PCI sata controller.

PM me when you get a chance evil. I got something for ya.

Jsut because the bus connection is faster does not necessarily mean that the data can travel through the SATA cables ata greater rate.
For this card the transfer rate is the same as an SATA through the PCI or mobo.
