OK so I'm moving from a phenom I x4 to a SB processor... basically rebuilding the machine... MB, Processor, RAM etc...

I got my processor and my motherboard:

-ASUS P8P67 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Intel Motherboard
-Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

I heard ram volt is an issue... so I'm not sure what ram I should get for this machine... I basically worked my ass off this weekend so I can get the first component which is the motherboard...

Then friday I'm getting the processor... yay I get paid... then after that I will be getting the ram but most likely not for a week or two later.

I've been in a need for a new MB/Processor/RAM combo... so this is a great system upgrade for me... any help would be appreciated...

I like kingston and Corsair ram... either would be good... not really a price budget... but I need at least 4GB of ram... though I probably could pay for 8 GB... these are the kits I'm looking at btw...

issue again here is the voltage (1.65v) ... and would it be stable???

I think it may be a smart idea waiting on the ram 2-3 weeks for memory manufacturers to come out with more compatible SB ram...???

if i remeber right i heard somewhere they limited SB to dual channel DDR3

if so you can run the patriot viper II's that i have, it comes as 2x2gb kits
stock 9-9-9-24
ive got mine pushing 7-8-7-20 atm, and can still get lower if i really wanted to

either way, if you want either of yours, go for the corsair, ive had a few issues with kingston, so not much of a fan anymore
