Now everyone and their dog (or whatever pet you have) have heard of Seasonic before

Seasonic is one of the few OEM´s that both sell their own units under their own name as well as do OEM work for Antec / XFX / Corsair and others

Before i begin i will like to say a few words
Now i have seen many here on OCN hail Seasonic as the god of the PSU world which you worship and i am getting very tried of it
There is no such thing as a OEM and/or brand that is better then everything else its like saying one type of food is better then another type of food
In the end you are only making yourself look ignorant (or stupid) or worse a fanboy so stop with the Seasonic is best in the world hype already
No Seasonic is not bad but they have messed up in the part and they are human so they dont deserve all the hype they get
In fact i feel they sell more on their name then on PSU quality which is not just wrong but dangerous

Enough rant

First up is the S12 II Bronze series which is is non modular 80 plus bronze rated series
Wattage is 380 / 430 / 520 / 620

Now this is a very good PSU series sure its non modular and its only 80 plus bronze rated but there is nothing bad to say about it at all

Both ripple and regulation is very good

Next is the M12 II Bronze which is a semi modular 80 plus bronze rated series

Wattage is 520 / 620 / 650 / 750 and 850

Overall a pretty good series but it is a bit old now

Next is the brand new Seasonic M12 II Bronze Evo Edition which is a fully modular 80 plus bronze rated series

Overall this is a good cheap fully modular 80 plus bronze rated series

Next is the brand new Seasonic S12G series which is a non modular 80 plus gold rated series

Wattage is 450 / 550 / 650 / 750

Next is the Seasonic G which is a semi modular 80 plus gold rated series

Note that the 360 watts version is non modular

Wattage is 360 / 450 / 550 / 650 and 750 watts[/B]

Now this is a very good bang for buck series you get a lot of PSU for what you pay for and overall its a pretty good series

Only bad thing i have to say and this is really nitpicking is efficiency sometimes has problems reaching gold

Next is the Seasonic X series which is is a fully modular 80 plus gold rated series

Now since the older KM2 units are discontinued i wont talk about those

Only the KM3 based models will be talked about

Wattage is 650 / 750 / 850 / 1050 and 1250 watts

Overall this is a very good PSU series and there is not really anything bad i can say maybe other then price

Next one is the Seasonic Platinum which is a fully modular 80 plus platinum rated series
Wattage is 400 / 460 / 520 / 660 / 760 / 860 / 1000 / 1200 watts

Note that the 400/ 460 / 520 watts are fanless models

Next is the Seasonic Snow Silent series

Next is the new Seasonic Prime Titanium which is a new fully modular 80 plus titanium rated series.
Wattage has not been revealed yet but 650-1000 watt is to be expected

Not to burst your bubble, but i think Delta PSU's are better built and more reliable. Don't get me wrong though, Seasonic is still very good, my last Seasonic PSU which was the Antec HCG-520 was a very nice unit for the price.

So I assume you will list all the OEM's that use Seasonic internals? I only buy either Seasonic branded or others that have Seasonic components (like the Antec HCM-850).

Funny thing is you can get some great deals on other brands with Seasonic innards. I just bought my Antec for $100 (after rebate). compared to the $220 I paid for my Corsair AX850HD or $170 for my Seasonic X-660, it's a heck of a deal.

No each brand has its own thread which means Seasonic thread is Seasonic only

XFX already has its own and Antec is planed later

Ah silly me, didn't read the OP properly.

Most of the time OEM"s such as HP, Dell, Acer etc always use good OEM's for their PSU's, most of the dell's and HP's use Delta units and usually Acer has FSP units. dunno why people think OEM PSU's are junk.

Actually Delta does so much OEM work for many companies that they are the bigest OEM in terms of sales in the world

They are larger then Seasonic or any other OEM

Delta is also older they stated in 1971 Seasonic started in 1975

I have SeaSonic G550W PSU and it's powering my dual HD7950 DC2 TOP rig with 2500K overclocked @ 4.5GHz.

Downside of this unit is that it has only two PCIE connectors so I had to use custom built molex to PCIE adapters in order to power my GPUs.
izufm1.jpg

Also when it reaches load over 300W fan on the PSU ramps up very high and it's a bit noisy due aggressive fan profile set by SS. (even though PSU runs very cool).

Other than that it's very stable and afordable GOLD efficiency PSU.

CHEERS..

I suppose we need an OEM thread, to identify not only Seasonics but Deltas. I see the occasional Delta among branded PSU's, for example. Seems I was always running into them when I took apart dead Dells.

Delta is the largest OEM in the world so i am not surprised

Also a thread that shows every OEM for every brand and model would be flatout impossible

You just have to live with realhardtechx

@shilka,
We very much appreciate the support provided by our customers even though we have had our missteps in our long history, we are, in the end, human. Nevertheless, we try our best to minimize these mistakes and we thank our supporters for staying with us, continuing to believe in us and trusting our products to power their valuable systems. Even the greatest companies of our times haves their ups and downs but what is important is how we resolve our issues and how we support our customers who were negatively affected, and to that, I hope we have not come up short.

The bulk of our budget is put into product design, development and manufacturing as this has been and always will be, our core identity. Sea Sonic was founded by engineers and to this day, it is led by engineers. The amount of money spent on marketing is in fact, very small compared to that of our total budget and compared to that of partners' and competitors' marketing budgets. Much of our support derives from word of mouth and recommendations such as from the supporters in this forum.

There are many facets to our business and can easily be misunderstood. I have had multiple discussions with Phaedrus in the past years and I think we now have a very clear and excellent understanding of each other's positions and see eye to eye. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me anytime and I will do my best to clarify any issues you may have. -- Thank you.

Thank you very much for the clarification shilka.

There are numerous brands in the market and it is a very competitive market for price, technology, performance and availability. A "name" is often built up through years of delivering quality and high performance products.

It is always nice when informed buyers purchase our products as that validates our position in the market. But there are people who do purchase based on name recognition alone and to say the least, there are many PSU brands in the market far more famous than ours, so whatever business we can garner, we are happy to have and fully appreciate and we hope that even though the initial purchase decision was based on name recognition, eventually our product's performance or our company's support will show that we are more than just a name.

If something is good i will like it and recommend no matter who the brand and OEM is

I like to think i am a fair person if its good its worth recommending

If its not good its not worth recommending end of story

Had high hope for the NZXT HALE 82 V2 but it is a huge disappointment

Looking forward to the new Seasonic M12 II Bronze Evo Edition hitting stores i know i will recommend it over the HALE 82 V2 any day of the week

Thank you very much. We appreciate people who can provide unbiased information on products as this benefits the manufacturer and the consumer. In this way, we can take note of our shortcomings which we may have overlooked and we will try to improve.

Our company is fairly simple, we only make one product, power supplies and we hope to be as good as we can in what we do. But sometimes when you do the one thing every single day, for so many years.... it is easy to overlook or miss something.....

You know you have already done far more then any other hardware rep here on OCN

Almost forgot CM Phaedrus does a very good job as well (sory almost forgot you Phaedrus)

The NZXT and Rosewill threads had their OCN reps respond but not to this level

Think that everyone else should have a look at you and see how its done

One tiny little aspect of what Seasonic does makes my life easier. I regularly use four Seasonic PSU's -- two on our main machines, one fanless unit to provide power to my fan-testing rig, and one to provide power to systems I install when I test cases.

Having the non-ATX24 cables interchangeable life so much easier than it might be.

And I thank some tech at Seasonic who warned me that my new PSU would have different ATX24 cable assignments from my earlier units.
