I want to get a second fan to get a push pull configuration going for my h50. This question may sound stupid, but is there a certain fan I need to get to connect to my radiator, or can I just use any kind of 120 mm fan?

I don't have enough CPU pin fan connectors.

You use one on the CPU fan and one on the chassis fan header. Like 99% of motherboards have 5+ headers. Or get a Y splitter that's 3-pinx2 male to 3-pin female.

As for the fans, you likely want to use two of the same if you care about best possible performance.

Gentle typhoons are the best but are expensive (15-20$ each).
Yate loons are cheap (3.95 each) but are louder. Choose whatever speed you want over 1400rpm and you'll have decent cooling and non-annoying sound.

You can get a molex to 3 pin splitter!

In any case, don't dual fan the H50, it's not worth it! I get lower temps using the stock fan than I do with two fans, I've tried gentle typhoons, CM R4 Sickles, Black hawks, yate loons, the lot, and the stock fan is exactly the same as dual fan setup, save your money.

My temps were exactly the same before and after using all these fans, I replaced the TIM and cleaned thoroughly with TIM removal liquid.

Maybe it's just my system, but I saw an increase in temps with 2 fans. I even have shrouds to direct the air flow, they did nothing... I spent almost £130 on my H50 in fans hahah!

I've learnt now.

I would definately recommend you at least try a second fan, pull a different 120mm out of some other part of your system and at least test it. I had the one Corsair fan on there when I bought it, and when I bought a pretty orange fan for my side door, I took the one that was there (just a black thermaltake one) and put it on my radiator for my H50, and it dropped it by 4 degrees celcius, I was pretty satisfied.

Well in than case, I want to get a red led fan for the pull. It'll look like a beast when I get my HAF X.

Push/pull dropped my temps a few C. I'm using a pair of S-Flex fans. But yes, you want to use matching fans as mentioned.
Is it absolutely required that I get the exact same fan? Cause it's not on newegg. Why can't I get a different fan? What difference could it make?
