Here is what it is; an Uplink port and port 8 share a port or Auto MDI/MDIX.

All modern switches are "self-adaptive"... probably any switch bought in the last decade. Basically, if you plug-in a straight or crossover Ethernet cable, the switch would figure out what the port on the other end is and select the correct configuration for communication.
