Selling/Transferring Steam games?

OK, I am curious if you can sell, trade or gift existing Steam games? I have a few that I'll never play again and was thinking of trying to make use of them. Either selling them, trading them or just giving them avay. Can you do this if they have already been installed and played?

Also, am I correct in the fact that you can't sell Steam games on OCN? What about gifting them etc.? This is assuming the previous is possible.

cant be done
Even though it's illegal, Steam still somehow manages to not allow you to do this.
Once you install them they are stuck to your account. You can't sell/ trade them. Or "give them away".
You'd have to sell the account entirely which is not allowed either.
Pretty much the only disadvantage of Steam vs retail IMHO
nope, can't be done. Tied to your account forever.

I personally think that steam should have more options for it's more dedicated customers. Like maybe getting a 1 hour return clause on games. So if I play a game for 15 minutes and HATE it, I can get a refund. I have at least 10 games on steam I wish I could have passed on. I would probably buy MORE games if I knew I could get a chance to pass on it if I didn't like it.

Unless you don't install it, but it is a PITA to get your money back.

OK, thanks all. That's what I thought, but was just checking. I would gladly gift some of the junk I don't play.
Games are tied to your STEAM account. Due to STEAMS EULA you may not sell or trade a STEAM account or by any means allow the STEAM account in question to change ownership.
You don't own any steam games, in any sense. Steam is a service that Valve can alter or discontinue at it's pleasure.

And this is why I consider Steam a rip off at almost any price.
you can sell it if you live in the states and the website is also hosted in the states, but im not gonna give you site links lol, but as for single games nope. Oh and under the law if you wanted to press the issue with valve leaglly in court you most likly could get them sellable stateside and if steam shuts down or goes to a paid service where you have to pay a monthly fee you could file a lawsuit and win lol.

LOL fail

Anyways, the only way you can gift games is to purchase them as gifts.

I agree 100%. At least if you buy a hard copy of a game and you don't like it, you can sell it and get SOME of your money back.

That's one thing I like about Android phones. The Android Market has plenty of free apps, but the apps that you do pay for, if you don't like it, you can get a full refund within 24 hours of purchase.

I think more places should be like that.
