OK guys help me out here. i picked up a cheap ($69) AMD Sempron 2500+ w/ mobo (ECS/Elite K7VTA3) combo from fry's the other day. now it's the family computer and doesn't need to be overclocked. today i threw in a 512 chip of ram, installed MM5 & cpuz. i realized that the processor is only running at 1.4GHz even though it's suppose to be @ 1.75GHz. in the bios i can't find/change the multiplier but i can change the FSB. it comes stock at 133 and maxes out at 165. now i need to go 166 to get to 1.75GHz. but when i put in 165 the computer won't boot, any suggestions? i got it up to 150 FSB (1575 MHz) so far and my temps are low... 37 C on the cpu and 21 C on the case at idle on the low cpu fan setting. so i got plenty of room to play with right? what's the point at which the temps are getting a little on the hot side?
the computer has AMD Sempron 2500+ cpu, ECS K7VTA3 mobo, 512mb pc2700 ram, volcano 7 fan, 32mb gfx card. please help me out guys. THANKS!!!!
