I broke my Sennheiser HD-212's cable so I ordered a new cable. After a week of not seeing it I email Sennheiser and find out that it was on back order. Me being the crazy person I am when it comes to customer service, I call Sennheiser and cancel my order and complain. The manager wasn't there but I was told that she would give me a call back tomorrow.

Guess what? She DID! I almost fell over. She then went over my options with me and she cut me a deal on a pair of PC-150s: $2 cheaper than newegg with free 2 day shipping. Damn decent if you ask me. Probs to Sennheiser for taking a lame situation and making it much better.

I haven't plugged them in yet, but so far I am very impressed with them. They are built well and the feel great on. They don't go around your ear, they sit on top, but I find it very comfortable. They aren't closed backs, which at first made me cranky, but then I realized that these aren't made for music. The mic is flexible. All and all these seem like they will work very well. I

*UPDATE*

So I've got them setup. The mic is killer, it's very clean. The sound quality is decent. Not as nice as my HD212s but close, the onlt diff is the bass. Highs and mids are great, but the bass is lacking just a bit. I'm very impressed with these. The main things that stand out for me is how comfortable they are, the mic quality, the headphones are decent, the build quality is very high and the price is right.

Plug em in and let em run for a few hours let those headphones warm up a bit. I usually do about 50hrs of burn in (just plug them into my Home Theater and let a CD loop).

They have been playing music for 5 hours and it seems they have warmer tones now. Is there a certin type of music that will burn them in better? I've been playing my muse and tool pandora station

No not really, just leave them at normal volume and just leave 'em alone overnight.

for burning in it doesn't matter what type of music.

how much is the Senn cable? Senn isn't really known for their high quality cables

if you want I can make you an SPC cable. how long do you need?

it would have a slightly warmer sound then the Senn cable as SPC (silver plated copper) sounds warmer then regular copper. I like the sound

Sure, that sounds great. I like my cables long. Can you do a 10ft cable for $8 shipped?

THe HD212 cables have the little plug-ins into the headphones. Can you get those?

show me a pic. It would probably cost more then $8 just because the parts cost more, but it would certainly sound better.

SPC costs about $1 a foot for a 3 conductor braid, about $2 for the mini jack and about $6 for techflex and heatshrink if you want it covered

as for the plug ins I'd need to see a picture

come to think of it... I just looked at the model # and these have a mic... I'd def need to see pics...

How often do you do this and how much would you charge for the same thing but w/ a PC-150 headset after getting it RMA'd?

I recable headphones quite frequently, hang on a sec and I'll take a couple pics of recent headphones and cables.

the mic would add extra wires and without looking at it I'm not sure how I would do that... if the mic contacts were easy to get to then i could recable them, but I wouldn't want to try to feed a larger gague cable through the boom

and some pics... I've posted a couple pics before, but these are newer ones.

the 1 foot interconnects I made to go between my DAC and amp
