Set up my i7 rig or no? Vote in poll

So I got all my parts for my i7 except my case, 1 rad and my apogee gtz. Should I set it up using my 8600gt and stock cooler for the i7? It will just sit on the mobo box on my desk. I won't have my case for another 1.5 weeks anyways, so I am thinking about it. Right now I am just on my Macbook Pro. I am just worried about using the stock cooler, that thing is so crappy and ugly lol.

Vote.

I would personally wait for the case to arrive, the waterblock and radiator. But that is just me, I don't see the point in doing the same work twice.

I am also anal about doing stuff in a certain order though, you may not be.
It should be fine if i7 runs at stock speed but just wait the case.
just do it, my 9550 is on stock unfortunately
why would you have a q9550 with an ep45-ud3p board if your're running stock and you have a stinger v8! you're nutz!
no way start now! and fold on the 8600 at least if not the i7 just fold at 50% shouldnt get that hot! we need the PPD

I no longer use case anymore just a techstation.
So pretty.

I think I am gonna wait. For some reason, I got a gut feeling saying to wait, and so many times I go against my gut and I screw up something.

BTW, I do not fold, nor do I know much about it. Once I get my GTX 260 or GTX 285 I may start it up, however I am usually on my rig so folding may slow it down. I may just need to build another comp then lol.

Ack, that's reason enough

Why not set it up, the stock hs will be fine, that's designed specifically for the processor.

8600 gt will play tf2 and source games decently.

you make a very good obvious point about the stock hs lol. +rep for that.
As for the macbook pro, I love it, so your opinion means nothing there

I will sleep on it tonight and then decide tomorrow after school. I got Orange Box for $10 last week and I have been dying to play it along with Crysis Warhead which I also got for $10.
Then I got Bioshock, GTA San Andreas, Jericho, DMC4, RSV2 all to beat too. I just miss having my PC and I REALLY want to get Mirror's Edge.

set it up on a plywood board. the stock cooler will work perfect at factory clock.
