setpriority question

what is the difference between realtime and high priority presets? I know realtime uses a lot more threads than high, so is there any reason I wouldn't want to just use that on my folding cores?

seems like i've crashed a time or 2 while running realtime. High, not yet *fingers crossed*
i net about 200 more points daily roughly depending on the WU for my daily output changing my priority from low to high.
Other than that i can tell you nothing! :0)

haha our stats are both so close to eachothers

And by the way grats on passing me the other day

Same here, I have no idea other than I get better PPD with realtime. I have never once crashed because of running realtime though and I don't get any slowdowns running other programs, I can still watch movies etc too without any problems, just kills my PPD a bit ;l

EDIT: You will soon be passing me too, my GPU is now folding under another name for the GPU comp
I realy need another 260...

In task manager under processes of you right click on a process you get the option to set a specific process's priotrity anywhere from low to realtime. At least that what I'm gettin out of it...

I tried setting them to realtime, my computer got so laggy I had to restart. Mouse lagged so much it would be trying to catch up and still moving 2 minutes later, stuff I clicked MIGHT recognize being clicked 3 minutes later. (actual times this)
Ouch, I know what you mean, I set my Vmware clients to realtime once and I couldn't do anything, I ended up hitting the restart button
Never had that problem with only the GPU though ;l
