Its really easy, all you have to do is insert it into the next pcie slot and enable physx on the 8800gt in the nvidia control panel.

That.

Or why not sell it and buy a 2x2gb Ram kit and a Sound card.
I think that More ram will give you better performance than a physx 8800gt as not many games use it.

Did you plug in the 6-pin PCI-Express power connector to the 8800?
Did you install the latest drivers that include the physx driver?
i have the latest drivers i think for the PHYSX coz i can go to that panel to turn it on/off

as for 8800gt yes i did plug in the 6 pin to it and thats y it was working

now i can hear the fan noise and it was like the fan was on 100% and 2 loud so i just took it off

the card does not even show in system hardware and when i put the cd for installing the drivers it says it cant find the xfx hardware for the drivers(my 8800gt is xfx alpha dog edition)

any help?
100% fan speed probably means you don't have the latest drivers.
Install Driver Sweeper.
Uninstall both Nvida and PhysX drivers.
Reboot into Safe Mode.
Run Driver Sweeper and a registry cleaner if you have one.
Reboot.
Install latest Nvidia drivers (PhysX are included).
Should work after that.
but i have the drivers installed for gtx 260 and they work great

which driver i should uninstall?

The complete nVidia display driver package. Then re-install the latest version, it's basically 1-in-all. You don't need multiple drivers for the videocards.

can u link me to the nvidia site where these drivers are?

coz the sparkle website does not work with driver download
Here you go http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_182.08_whql.html, it should install the latest PhysX software for you automatically, then go to the PhysX control panel and select 8800GT as your PhysX PPU.
thnxs dude
ok which drivers to install?
ok guys i have installed the latest drivers and still i cannot get that thing to work

here it is i fix the 8800gt in the mobo and then put the 6 pin in it

it is working as i can hear the voice of its fan

then i restart computer and then go to the physx option but i dont see the option of sli and such

is there something iam doing wrong? or something i shld do that i didnt
As far as I know, when you want this to run as physx you don't use the SLI bridge and therefore you can't sli 2 cards with different GPUs. if you mobo is sli capable and you do have 2 GPU that are similar, you must enable SLI in BIOS and then in nVidia control panel.
Just download the latest nvidia drivers(after you download driversweeper and run it 3 times) then right-click on the desktop and there should be the "nvidia control panel" option, click it. Now when the window pops up, there should be a tab on the left that says "set sli and physx configuration" under the 3d settings, click on it. There should be settings to turn on/off sli and physx. i hope that helped you.
guys i can hear the card working but i think the system is not catching it

it doesnt show in the system hardware and i only see my gtx 260

also i just took the card and applied it to the mobo and didnt do anything

if there is a special way please tell me like taking out something of the card or anything
