I have the option of setting my HT to 1Ghz in my BIOS...
the inevitable question is, would it be safe to jack it up to an even 1000? my current HT is set at over 900 Mhz due to the OCing, how would it be at a solid Ghz?

Depends on a number of factors, such as your motherboard, processor, and memory. First I would try increasing it manually to 1 gig, if its stable and works fine then I would goahead and just set it to 1000.

It might run it, it might not, my board won't do anything over 850MHz HT, but the benefits of it being high are very small so it won't matter a whole lot anyway

failed to boot.

youre right...i was reading an article that HT 1000x2 didnt made little difference over the 800x2 HT

o well....my HT is set at over 1980 Mhz anyway...i guess that'll suffice.
