I know this will seem a tad ridiculous, but i am looking to overclock a Core 2 Duo, e8400 to 4.00 Ghz, but only to use as the processor for either a NAS Box, running FREENAS, or a Router, lan and wireless, running PFSence. i have the CPU i just need the Mobo, RAM and a tiny sized 10000 rpm drive for the OS or more if i decide to run with the NAS idea. Any advise, criticism, or input on what you guys think.

Why?

If you had speedstep enabled it'd sit at base clock for 99.999% of it's life in a NAS or router environment anyway.

So what exactly are you looking for help on?
If you are going to go out and buy a 775 mainboard and overpriced DDR2 it'd be more cost effective to get a bundle on a newer platform.

Glad to be criticized by someone with no reading comprehension. What sort of value does your post add, then?
