setting up dual gpu folding (console) (noob)

542 Views 9 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  stingerjg
i just got some (new to me) 8800GTS(G92) cards today. Ive never set up dual gpu's in my system. I want to keep using the console version, cause thats what ive always used. Im running XP Pro.

first of all, ive installed the card but its not showing a driver in rivatuner. If i clean of the driver and reinstall will it go to both cards?

if i remember correctly, i hook up a second monitor to the second card, extend the desktop to that card.
After that im kinda lost. Ive already created a copy of my gpu folding file. What do i do then?

thanks

Just out of curiosity why not use the sys tray especially if you follow this guide and don't have to set it up as a service. If you want it to start at start just drag a shortcut to the start folder. Just curious.
Console version is better in ppd
although not as fancy.

here is how to do it stinger:
A) copy your folding folder from your other console client and rename it and paste it.
B) run the configonly flag on the new client and int he additional parameters, set the -gpu 1 flag (this will use the new GTS) and make sure to change the machine ID aswell
C) run the configonly flag on the original client, and set in additional parameters to -gpu 0
D) launch them both and fold on

Hmm difficult. Guess I should try that, as if Linux and VMware wasn't fun enough.
