Never mind, I think I've figured it out. I was mistaken. It was a 20-pin and then a separate 4-pin piece. The confusion came from the fact that in the manual it described it as a single 24-pin connector.
The 20+4 pin connector belongs in the 24-pin socket on the motherboard, you put the 20-pin connector in first, and the 4-pin part in second.Originally Posted by fraxture
So as I mentioned in my second update, the connector from the psu is a 20-pin connector, but it is bundled with a another 4-pin connector. There is span enough to attach the 4-pin connector into the 24-pin female connector on the MoBo (although it does not seem to fit in all the way (there is about 1-2mm space because the plastic section on the 4-pin connector has some plastic pieces extending from it that run into the 20-pin piece). What is strange, however, is that if I hit the power button, the system seems to boot up alright with or without the 4-pin piece also plugged in. Does anyone have any guidance here? I find this a bit confusing... The SG05 manual gives no hints that I can find...
