Valve has released the first TV spot for Left 4 Dead. We have the 1080p version below, maximize the screen to view HD. You can also download it by going to here and under "Share Vidd" clicking "Download The Original Vidd". Doug Lombardi sends word: As part of the $10 million marketing campaign for its upcoming Xbox 360 and PC thriller, Left 4 Dead, Valve is airing a pair of television commercials on network and cable television. Created with footage from the game's opening sequence, the L4D TV campaign begins on November 8. The full intro sequence will be available for public preview in the coming days. It is a 30 second spot showing glimpses of what looks like a great opening cinematic for the game. It has dialogue from the game and uses the song "Grounds For Divorce" by Elbow, an English alternative rock band as background music. The dialogue is as follows (text is in brackets): [ZOMBIES] "Call these freaks whatever you want" -Francis [4 PLAYER CO-OP] "If it's not one of us, kill it" -Zoey [APOCALYPSE] "The guys used to laugh when I hit the rifle range at lunch - ain't so funny now, is it?" -Louis [IT'S THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. BRING YOUR FRIENDS.] "I'll see peace back on earth if I gotta murder every one of these animals with my own bare hands!" -Bill We were a little disappointed with Valve for their Orange Box TV ads that really didn't tell somebody what the games were all about. Valve is being very direct at least with this first ad, and we think it gets the message across and is quite badass at the same time. Way to go Valve! |
