When you have a dedicated card, like the 4770, you want to disable ALL forms of onboard video. Just to be sure that there is no issues. In-game it is going to use the card, hopefully, as you can have 10gb of onboard video memory and it wouldn't help an ounce in game performance.

512m = what's on the card.
4 GB = system RAM.

GTA IV reports dedicated video RAM.
Not really sure why you're worried.

You never want to use shared video memory, as it's much slower than dedicated.
Some new cards have over 100 GB/sec video bandwidth, DDR2 800 Mhz bandwidth is only 6.4 GB/channel theoretical max (12.8 in dual channel config).

Shared memory is just a marketing ploy.
"Look, this card can allocate 2.5 GB of memory so obviously it must be superior to a puny 1 GB card.."
