<img src="/images/smilies/eek.gif" border="0" alt="" title="EEK!" class="inlineimg" /> Just thought I'd tell everyone. Saw a nice shooting star that was either very close or very big, but I saw it go across the sky and even saw the individual parts of it fly off and burn up. Looked wicked cool. <img src="/images/smilies/cool.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Cool" class="inlineimg" /> Could possibly have touched down idk I'm in town and some houses were in the way<img src="/images/smilies/frown.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Frown" class="inlineimg" />

That sounds sick. Maybe it was an alien, or a robot, or a ghost

I was in north wisconsin one year and on the first night me and my friends laid out in the grss looknig the sky. It was so clear that almost all the stars showed. About every minute or so a shooting star wold go by. Yeah, every minute!

I saw one very close to the ground over a field here--usually they burn up way in the sky--but this one was like a fireworks streaking into piecesn only a few hundred feet overhead--prett startling as it was still prettly light out--and it was brighter than the sky...<br />

If it broke apart, and was really bright and big...it PROBABLY wasnt' a shooting "star"<br />

I saw something I thought was a cluster bomb...sounds like what you're describing.<br />

It was a russian satellite that was slowly falling into earth's orbit, and had finally been pulled in by earth's atmosphere. That might've been what it was. watch the news tomorrow...
