tT Soprano. Anyone know how restrictive it is? The case arrives here Tuesday, and I was thinking of cutting the fan grill out and replacing it with a round metal fan guard.
Also, do any of you run without the Expansion Slot Covers/Tabs on the case? I know the Antec 900 has slats in them, but would there be any gain to just removing them alltogether?
Didn't see any answers to this yet, so Ill just quote it.

It would end up just sucking air in there if you did that. i would only want it open directly behind an exhaust fan, and put some filters on the intakes to keep dust out. Otherwise, there's not much point in having a case.
I would say cut the fan grill as others have said being as it looks really restrictive...I cut mine from my no name case and didn't notice any gain what so ever...
Can't hurt, and when I cut mine I cut mine with a heavy duty pair of wire cutters with no problems at all...All I did was turn everything off first...
Cut every bit out with a Reinforced cutoff dremel wheel. It isn't the cleanest looking thing as it was somewhat of a wierd pattern for the holes, but it works, and no one really will see it since the case won't really ever be moved.
Definitely cut out the fan guard. As far as the expansion covers.... take them off if you're trying to use ur computer as a vacuum cleaner. My suggestion would be to leave the unused ones covered. A friend of mine put LED exhaust fans back there. If you plan to uncover those you will def need some kind of filter. Especially if your computer sits on the floor like mine ^_^
I'm still trying to build up the nerve to cut mine out, but I wouldn't cut that one out. Looks to me like it allows fine airflow...check this out..
That looks even more restrictive than mine and I could feel the air bouncing back into the case off the fan guard. You definately should cut yours out.
