Well i've looked around the internet and found out most xbox 360's are breaking becasue the solder used to make them is tin (not lead) and when it becomes rapidly cold it cracks and looses its electrical connection so should i even cool my 360 also here is a video for you people who have the 3 ring of death thing or graphic probs. It might work

EDIT:also how many people have a 360 and dont need to cool it and it works fine and hasnt had any problems ?

Is your 360 having problems? no. so theres no need unless you live in a sahara desert. if ur xbox is fine, then dont go looking for trouble, when was ur xbox manufactured? theres not really alot of people with heating problems, there just stupid, and if there is it must be really hot.
if u really want to mod your xbox, then get a copper heatsink and replace the allum. one, you will see a decrease of heat, and change up the fans, get faster and with LED's.
mine works fine, after i got it replaced

How do i find out when it was manufactured??
Read the sticker on the side of the Xbox 360
Mines fine. Never had any problems with it. I think the people who are breaking them are using them a ton (all day or something).
its not that there using them a ton, thats what there made for, but what "else" they do and if not at the recommended settings, i.e using it when its 40 c outside heavily.
Dont IMO. It may void the warranty and if your xbox dies it is still covered by the warranty. IMO pointless

was it the launch edition of the xbox? or just a random error.
