Should I go Win7?

320 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  shift
I been running XP sp3 and now have the opportunity to install Windows7.

Before doing so, will most / majority of my software / games be able to work on the new OS?

Also... I never did a UPgrade, but always did a full Format hard drive then installed the OS.

Should I just go an do the upgrade way or Format HD and then install new OS?

Thanks for any tips

Yes, it should all work on windows 7. When you reinstall, you can do an upgrade, but it's much better to do a clean install (format then install)

Go Win7. It's nice.

Go with the clean install, it's always better to make sure everything is gone first, esp with xp to Windows 7.
oh dude, i just noticed that you're from Austin, shift. That's my hometown (when I'm not at college)
I just have so much software that I would hate to do the Full format then install. I just ran the WIN7 test and it says some software may not work.

But oh well....
