Should I reseat my heatsink?

Hey guy's I have a question. It has been 4 days since I finished my build and it's been running great. Today I finally started to slowly overlock and since this is my first computer I can overclock I've been going slow. Today I got it to 3.2 which isn't much but I will do more tomorrow. My question is my temps are at 37c which from the reviews I see on my cpu cooler seems high. Should I take off the cpu cooler and reseat it? I'm using OCCT to check my temps.

is that 37°C at load?
My CPU Idle temp is 28C overall and if you look at each core, they generally peek at around 28-31C, so yours at Idle seems a little high. I would use a good thermal paste like Artic 5 or Tuniq MX-2 and a well rated aftermarket CPU fan.

Make sure that the CPU fan is seated properly and making full contact with your CPU (not loose).
37c is at idle. I've been using mx-2 I may put too much on it.
There is a number of ways to apply thermal paste. My favorite, and the one recommended by Thermaltake, is to squeeze a line on top of your CPU, take a riggid peace of paper/cardboard and spread the paste down the CPU covering its full surface. Some put a line in the middle of the CPU (where the cores are suppose to be), but that is no garantee of an even spread.

I used the AS5 line across the cores method with my TRUE, AS5 and Q6600. Worked out perfectly.

hmmmm u shouldnt trust OCCT on ur temps
download REAL TEMP and check

This guy did the same thing and was not too happy with the results;

From his picture, it looks like he didn't do it quite right. He needed to reseat anyway.

Conventional methods of applying TIM don't work too well for direct heatpipe contact coolers

The best way is to apply like this

Okay so I reseated my heatsink and added one of my tri cool fans at max speed and I checked occt and it showed 37
so I took a members advice and downloaded real temp and it shows 32c. I'm not sure what I should be looking for in temps and the temps may do better once the mx-2 starts to set... I may be wrong on that though.

I use CPUID to watch over my temps and you are right, as the thermal paste sets, your temps will improve!

MX-2 doesn't have a curing time

Well 32c is at idle then it goes to about 38 load. So I guess its not to bad.
Well not sure what's up with occt but i think the temp is wrong. It stays at 37c and I've added another fan on top to do a push pull setup and still the same. Got a question though. I checked everest and it says my motherboard temp is 31c but my cpu is 36 but on an another program it says my temp for my cpu is 31 which one should I go by?
I would just use the highest temperature you've gotten, and use that as a reference to be on the safe side. Now go for the 4.00ghz
I went back to 3.00 for the moment I couldn't pass any test so I may have to up the volts but not sure why it was at stock volts at 3.2 I wonder if I should up the volts.
