I'm getting a couple of new pumps today to help the flow running (two 35Xs).
This means I will have my D5s available.
My reservoir has 4 slots (3 in/out and 1 in) which I can utilize.

My current loop is res->pumps (2xD5s dual bitspower top)->mobo SB->cpu->mobo NB->4 gpus->3 radiators (gtx360)->Res.

My gpu temps are very low considering. Load at 65c (with 1.175v), idle at 30c.
My CPU idles at 30c at 1.55v. but at load, it goes up to 75c.

So, should I change the loop, and put the CPU alone on a one of the GTX360 with the D5s and the GPUs on 2 radiators, or just one loop, and the new pumps will help lower the CPU load temps?

I'm also considering getting a 4th radiator like the RX360 for the CPU alone instead of using a GTX360 from the GPUs.
Yeah, I'm nuts. Need a support group for updating junkies

Just finished the system a bit over a week ago, and already looking for upgrades.

WHEN WILL IT END????

But seriously, usually increasing flow rate and multiple loops does not help temps much but your case is an extreme one. Are your temps currently high and/or limiting your OCs? For instance, in my case my chip is simply at it's limit, so adding anything would be pointless.

Just re-read your post and I see you had temps posted already, give me a break it's a bit late over here heh.

It seems to me you're temps aren't the limiting factor in your OCs so I'd hold off on upgrading right now if I was you. However, more rad would be more beneficial then more flow/running multiple loops IMO.

Well I have two issues I'm not 100% happy with.

1. Flow is very low. The system is way more restrictive than I thought I would be.
It causes bubbles inside the GPU blocks which aren't coming out. This is why I'm swapping the pumps in the hope it helps.

2. I want a bit lower temps for the CPU.

I'm not sure just swapping the pumps will be enough. This is why I'm considering either cutting the loop into two, or adding another radiator.

Another option is combining it all to one bit loop with 3/4 pumps, and another radiator.

If you want less restriction get rid of the chipset cooling no reason to have it.also what fans are you using those rads require fans like the kaze 3000rpm.

Res pump rad cpu Nb sb rad rad gpu gpu..
Is how I would do it.
Adding more rads won't help.
Ambient temps are important too

This. Chipset cooling is incredibly restrictive, more so than basically every GPU block and most CPU blocks. Chipsets range from 2.5-4 PSI Drop, compared to the average of <1 PSI for GPU blocks and 1.5-1.9 for CPU blocks.

Also, how are the GPUs configured, Parallel or Serial?

I'll consider that, tho I don't really want to take them off for now. The chips run at 30c which is pretty nice over the 50-60 which was like I had on the R3E.


The GPUs are serial, as the pumps couldn't push the water into the last block in parallel.
There is a 7c difference between the last and first GPU at full load (54c first, 61c last).

I wouldn't bother adding a radiator or another pump. You're already at a 2.5C water-air delta, so even if you doubled the amount of radiators you currently have your temperatures would only decrease 1.25C. Adding another single 360 will provide no noticable change in temperature. Also, radiators (except for the GTX series) don't add any meaningful restriction so don't worry about adding another pump.

the rads are enough for your system adding anther rad maybe will get your temps down by 2c on each gpu,cpu...

adding a pump might help I read that gpu temps on water cooling is massively effected by the flow rate...

amm but adding anther pump or 2 wouldn't help the temps so much to justify the cost so I dont think its a wise move... if you want your temps to be allot better the only way to achieve that is to upgrade to some extreme cooling... Phase cooling...

Well today I got the expected 35Xs and the EK dual V2 top.

Temps went down a bit. I will let it sit for a day to get the last bubbles out from some of the places.
Flow seems to increase, so yeah, I don't think I will add another radiator. Its already getting pretty crowded under the motherboard anyway


But I am considering adding the "old" D5s I just took out, after the GPUs and before the radiators to increase the flow, and suck those pesky bubbles from the GPU blocks.
Since I'm using QDCs, its pretty easy if I find a place to put the pumps.

Seems right or just useless?

You most likely won't notice a temperature decrease, and you might even see an increase. Although considering you already have the pumps and that you have QDCs I'd just go for it. If the added pumps don't do anything you can sell them knowing you aren't giving up any performance.

I reviewed your build log to check which components you have and what the set-up looks like. Two D5s with bitspower tops are more than enough for your loop, which really points to some blockage in one of the blocks. Did you flush your rads before you built the loop? That's the most common cause of gunk build-up in a new loop.

Great build by the way. I got my hardware porn fix for the day on your build log. Nothing quite like those "square thingys".

I would probably totally think about joining that group.

It's bad that I am debating between a couch (I have only my desk chair, and a few kitchen chairs) and a water loop*...


*And by debating, I mean "Nah, when am I ever going to use the couch, I totally need to drop $600 on water cooling gear"

Yeah I flashed all 3 radiators several times with distilled water, shook the hell out of them.

Most likely if I have something bothering the system, its before the radiators.
When I started settings things up, I used parallel connectors for the SLI. The system was just not powerful enough to push water all the way to the last GPU.
Even now I have a few bubbles at the GPU blocks.

If all goes to hell, I might have to take everything apart and re-check it all, but I really don't want to do that.

The 35X which came in today did increase the flow tho.
Even got 6c off the GPUs, which is pretty awesome.

Took me just 15 minutes to replace the pumps, without any need to drain the system. QDCs are just god like items

What I'm going to do is add the D5s after the GPUs and before the radiators, and see how this will affect the system.

I wasn't able to verify exactly how many 90 degree fittings you have, but I have experienced drastic flow reduction using them. I had one build with 8 90 degree fittings and the flow was just terrible. I ended up swapping them with 45 adapters + 45 compression and the flow was noticeably increased.

Even still, if you check out EtheEnthusiast on youtube, he's got something like 12 90 degree fittings, quad SLI, mobo blocked, two cpu blocks on an SR2, and more rad than you can shake a stick at. He's running all that on two pumps, which really makes me concerned that you have some form of blockage or flow restriction. I know taking everything apart and checking every piece/component is a monumental pain in the ass, but you've got such a nice rig going, you kind of owe it to yourself
