quit being a fan boy... nut up and choose the better processor...

sure AMD can push 6.5ghz under a constant flow of liquid helium but when it comes to real world performance with a system that doesn't cost $500 dollars a day to cool AMD loses...

the i7 replaced my opteron... and even with only air the overclock blows the competition away...
If you feel you need an upgrade, feel that your system can't handle something you use right now (In this case, you probably encode stuff a lot), then by all means go upgrade.

It's your money. Do what you want.
if you want to try something new go intel. If you wanna stay in familiar ground stay amd.

See what you want.
Buy the best processor for what you will use it for both brands have good points AMD is cheap but the i7 the definitly the better processor especially if you do any video encoding
Intel isnt worth it..

AMD can do anything intel can at a better price.

Easy.

<600$ build? AMD

>601$ Build? Intel.

(This talking about gaming, obviously)
Buy a few bottles of liquor with your money, it will make your current setup seem WAY faster.
lol what will an intel rig do that your current amd rig won't? OMG encode videos faster yeah because every man and his dog does that....not
last i checked, microcenter has the i5 for 149.99 in store.. for a new computer build I'd go intel.
It all depends on your budget. There's not reason to be a fanboy. Just buy what will get you more.
If you're contemplating leaving AMD, then you're not welcome on our side anymore. Please leave now.

Execept for gaming. He has a [email protected] 3.8 so he won't see that much of a improvement certainly not enough to justify the cost of a new system.
