Should I upgrade?

So I've been thinking-upgrade to i7 920 as it is only $200, or upgrade my mobo to a UD3P, get a freezer 7, and get a thermaltake element G case. I have two questions-is it worth either upgrade and if I did buy the thermaltake element G case, does a mid tower have enough room for SLI?

i7 is going to cost you a lot more than $200. You'd have to buy the chip, mobo, and DDR3 RAM.

the i7 920 is only $200, but you'll have to buy a new motherboard and ddr3 memory as well... I think it would be cheaper to stay on 775 and get a UD3P to allow high clocks on that E6750. You might want to consider going quad at some point as well (q9550 gets my vote). Also, a mid tower will be fine for SLI - just remember that p45s don't support it without a bit of "tweaking"

Yeah I know I would have to buy all that, but I need more ram and a new motherboard anyways for my 775 build. Will I see a big increase in performance if I'm just gaming? Thanks for the information about the P45 as well just realized the UD3P only supports crossfire lol, well I like nvidia and ati anyways. Hopefully I'm lucky enough to find someone on ebay or craigslist to buy my current computer, then I can have a more open budget to a new computer.
Yeah I looked into getting an i7. Its pretty pricey.
Decent Motherboard - $180
i7 -920 - $270
3 x 2 GB DDR 3 - $100
H20 Block - $60
Total - $610
Cashing in Old Gear -> - $250
Total Spent $360
So if I average it out, I say about $400 for upgrade and thats assuming u sell your old gear for a good price. =T

In your case I would suggest getting a Q9550 E0 for $160, overclock it to 4.00GHz and call it a day.

In games that utilize a quad, yes you will see a nice increase. Even on games that utilize a single/dual, you would still see a nice increase as the change in architecture would net you a gain alone.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post!

i believe it is worth the upgrade to an i7 920, i absolutely love mine. it will cost you some definate cash, but i think you will be pleased with it overall.

as for the case, i don't recommend going with a mid tower if you want to run sli. the newer cards are very lengthy nowadays and have had to get creative with fitting gpu's lately. also, they put off a considerable amount of heat. good air flow is a must.
