bootlog.txt ?

I can't remember an actual file being created in 98 for errors. I know of detlog, bootlog, and setuplog. They should all be in the root directory.

Actually my second comment was a comment on the third post, the first comment by kingwilliam and his comment about getting xp and being generally... well not very helpful.

Those are the three (four?) I can remember from my days of messing with 98, a lot of stuff I know now only involves XP and it's superb system of tracking all the wonderful errors that occur with it.

But to let you know in all honesty a Celeron 700Mhz will run XP just fine even with some of the visual styles turned on. Yes thank you for pointing out that that's besides the point.

The File you are looking for should be the Bootlog.txt file. Have a file search performed in the Windows folder and you should find it mate.

Well I said the root (some people named their's c:\\Win c:\\Win98 or c:\\Windoze or etc..)

Then kingwilly goes off on the XP tangent. Big said it's only got a 700MHz celly and I pointed out a 700Mhz celly would run xp just fine but that's beside the point now.

BOOTLOG.txt will only give you errors with startup.
