Simple. Easy. Fast. Remote Desktop Client.

My aunt who lives a hundred and something miles north of me frequently has issues with her PC that are easy to fix, if I was there that is. I wouldn't say she's a technophobe, but she just has trouble with some terminology, and sometimes as most of you should know, poses a frustrating problem.

That is why I would like to set up a remote desktop client from my rig to hers so that when she has a question or needs something done on her rig, I can just accomplish it through mine while on the phone with her. So, tell the best, cheap (free works too) remote desktop client that would be the most conducive to a scenario such as this.

I suggest you use TeamViewer.

For you:
For your aunt:
Directions:
All you have to do is have her download the teamviewerqs.exe and then have her tell you the numbers/letters that are in the username. From there you type that into your box that says username and then press enter and then it'll ask you for a password. Type in the password your aunt gives you. It's underneath the password on your aunts password.
LogMeIn is a good program too, its free unless you want all the services like steaming music and file transfer (I just email files to myself generally when I need them)
I second Teamviewer. Works great.

So easy a caveman can use it too.
www.logmein.com

Free, works great. I have many client computers on there and haven't had one problem with it. HIGHLY recommended.

+ITS FREE

LMI is great, especially if she doesnt have a static external IP.

Never used TeamViewer, but I'm sure its very similar to LMI. Both good options.

I use teamviewer myself for Me and my Grandmother as well. I like it because if she has a problem she can click a button on the toolbar and it will pop up on myscreen asking if I wish to connect. You can turn this feature off of course.
Install Hamachi/Hamachi2 on both computers, set up a VPN room, add both computers to it, and use Windows' built-in remote desktop feature.

I use Logmein myself, works great for my in-laws computer 500 miles away or the computer 5 feet from me.
I personally use CrossLoop (http://www.crossloop.com/ipage.htm?id=predownload ) for things like this. I fix my sister's laptop all the time using this program and it works for me. Just my

I also use logmein for the exact same reason. Not sure about team viewer, but you can use logmein from any computer with a browser so if you are at school or something and she needs help, you can get online and do it from there. Works very nicely. Also, they have an iPhone app too if that matters to you (though it is not free).

Hamachi2 from LogMeIn, set them up in same network, set up Remote Desktop on computer. When you want to connect to it, put its Hamachi IP into remote desktop and fix.
Windows has had RDP built in for a while, why not just use that?
