Bought my 4830 last night, had 2x 4670xfired. Running in full settings, but dx10.1 isnt enabled yet. So far, 4830 is running pretty good, Dropped a few FPS though but will receive my second 4830 from newegg tomorrow. I was running at 60-70 FPS w/the cf'ed 4670. Now im running at 30-40fps w/single 4830. but the heat difference is good, at under load, im running at 50c w/the 4830. w/the 2x 4670, i was running at 70-80c... and kept shutting down my game and the computer... that is why i upped it up a notch.

I managed to oc it to 650/1000.. Im receiving another 4830, any advice on cooling? Will the stock cooling on both work fine? my 4670 ran hot when i xfired them.. right now, this 4830 is runnign at 44-49c on underload.. think 2 will make it hotter? cuz my system usually autoshut itself when both vid cards gets too hot..

no it wont. and his has a good stock cooling actually, especially the iceq ones. and 49c underload is very far from being hot. hot is above 80c.
Are you going to use the Black or the White pci-e port for the second card? Because when I was using the Black one with stock cooling I saw my card hit as high as 100 before.

Get that white one working, take the time if it's being finicky, and you'll get a ~30+ drop on that top card! Mine maxes out now at ~64 when both are under full load, I'd say that's a little bit better.

CrossFire always creates more heat, especially for the top card. I don't believe the ram is sufficiently cooled so you might want to OC it a little less. Core can be pushed to 700, no problem.

Hey,

were you able to get both card working at 8x/8x or 16x/4x? I have the other card inserted on the White PCI-E slot, and i know forsure its 2.0. But my mobo wont identify it? how did you get yours to work properly? I had the same problem with my 2x 4670. It wouldnt identify the 2nd card, and i know its not the motherboard, cuz i tried it on 2 xactly the same motherboard, and had the same problem.
