SLI a GTS 250 + 8800gt?

1080 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Livinstrong
Since both the GTS 250 and the 8800gt share a similar g92 core, would i be able to SLI them?

Also, does the GTS 250 offer any other differences compared to a 9800gt/gtx?

What about a 9800gt?

apparently you can sli a 9800gt and a gts250, but I think I recall nvidia said there may be some problems. If you have a 9800gt already, go for it. If you don't just get 2 of the same card. You can always try flashing the BIOS of your card to a gts250, but you risk bricking it.

What i mean is that I HAVE an 8800gt, and I'm looking to sli it with something to breathe some new like into my other computer.

Nvm though, I've found a decent one on Ebay, REP+

you could, change the product ID of the GTS250 to 8800GT, it might work
Well the difference between the 9800GTX+ and the GTS 250 is that the GTS 250 has a different BIOS (right?)
The GTS 250 also has a different PCB layout

The GTS 250 is the 9800GTX+, so you shouldn't be able to SLi them. If you have a GTS 240(8800GT/9800GT), you should be able to do it.
