I have just ordered 2x:

GF GTX580 Gainward 1536MB

Later on I was fancying to add Danger Den Waterblock for GTX 580 to each of them; I was wondering if the cards I bought are reference (therefor the DD Waterblock can be applied safely because it's compatible) or if they aren't reference and it can't be applied?

Any idea on where I could find out if it is compatible with DD Waterblocks?

Edit: I just noticed the card is SLIGHTLY overclocked and it sports 2 fans instead of 1; I am wondering though, if the non-ref is limited to the cooling system and if I'd be able to mount 2x DD Waterblock, ditch factory overclock and try to do it myself?

Find a card similarity price, and post it here, We'll tell you if it's enough.

I wrote to Danger Den and a very kind employee gave me a rather cryptic answer, I am posting it here hoping someone could help me decode it.

Hi Mark.

Thanks for asking, I did a little research and if the card in this like is yours then it will work with our waterblock, this card has the same PCI board as the one we used to design the block so your in luck.

Best regards

Now, as per my previous link my new 580s are NOT Golden Sample I believe, since they sport a dual fan and they look different; I wonder if they are still compatible considered the hint I received?
