Hi All,

I recently bought a pair of Klipsch RP-600M with Onkyo A-9010 amplifier driven by either a Dragonfly Black DAC or the built in DAC of the amplifier. Everything is good so far but the speakers are too big for desk use. Not just in size but in the overall presentation. These don't belong on a 5 feet PC desk that I use currently.

So, I will be moving these to proper stands and thinking of using a medium pair of speakers for desk use and normal PC audio. Any recommendations? I was thinking of going with ELAC B5.2 or Klipsch RP-400M. The amp will remain same. I will use the same amp and remove the cables of required speakers as and when required.

Usage - 70% Music, 30% Movies. Don't use sub as I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment.

Any suggestions? Or any other ideas?

Wouldn't it be large as well? That's why I am thinking of Elac B5.2. Or do you think the 6.5 inch woofer is worth the size.

How small do you need? They're smaller than your Klipsch RP-600Ms.

Just got a 32" it cranks
Before had a 13" dell with monitor and it also worked pretty good but mounted under the monitor for space saving.
Some I'm sure can be mounted on top of a monitor too where my 32" is located.

If you have the money, go for the devialet speakers lineup, amazing sound. The reactor model is pretty small and has good sound. One speaker is the equivalent of two and more of most normal speakers. My parents have always thought about buying its larger speakers for tv/home theatre and general music usage as its sound can carry over to most of the house. It has really small footprint for its purpose.

I use the B&O Beoplay M3 myself. Also, the sonos one is also good choice and very affordable but it's not really designed for PC speakers. The Sonos One and B&O also will have features like Google Voice Assistant, ability to sync with other speakers from same brand and mobile app support/playback is great too. For the price of one speaker, it can basically do everything you would need from a speaker.

Keep in mind, all these "one speaker with surround sound" suffer from short delay as they are not designed to be mainly PC/TV speakers. This may make your movie going experience uncomfortable. If your mainly doing music, the one second delay will not effect you. In my case, I just swap the speakers with headphones.

Thanks but the Devialet Reactor 600 is USD1100 for one speaker. Thats almost thrice my budget just for one speaker. :-O

And the Sonos One has smart features I don't need. I just need a good pair of dumb speakers. I think I will go with the B6.2 as recommended above. Thank you for your input though.

That is practical choice. Just lot of people now are going towards the unified speaker that can allows for music to be played via bluetooth/wifi, function as home theatre, tv and computer speaker and importantly saves space. The speakers are also pieces of furniture too, its meant to be displayed to any house guests. The devialet is expensive that's why my parents/myself always end-up not getting one because its very hard to justify such an purchase for its purposes even if you can afford it. It's better than B&O equivalents though, the sound from them does not back up there magnificent looks.
