I did get it to work, IIRC I used teh console and not the Systray client. Which one are you trying?
The client console version is the one I've tried.

Let me shut everything down and get to Win7 and see which version I have. Guess it's a good thing I didn't wipe the drive.

Edit: BTW what exactly is happening. Did you add a Windows password?

When i try to launch it says says: error running mpiexec. Cannot connect to a port. No I don't have a windows password set.
You must set a windows passord, like the VIsta guide says then try running the install bat.

Got the exact same error until I did.

Still can't get it to work.
And you followed this guide? http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...ml#post3475165

What's it saying now, when you double click the install.bat?
I think its cause you have a Red Sox Avatar... lol jk. I hate them.

back on topic, is it 64 or 32 bit? Ot does that not matter for folding?

Good question
did you download from this page. http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther and get the one that says

Quote:
6.23 beta
for MPICH
(32-bit or
64-bit)
As the Win7 Beta is a 64 bit OS.

Yeah, I followed the guide and its still giving me the same errors.
And yep, thats the one I downloaded.
Wow thanks Tufelhunden! I got my SMP working on my E6750 but it's running 4 FahCore_a1.exe, shouldn't it be only 2 since it's a dual core? and how much PPD can I expect on at 3.4GHz?

Thanks again!

The SMP client is made for quads hence the 4 different processes but will work perfectly fine for your dual.

gig, I had the same problem you had. Try installing the client in "C:\\users\\|your username|\\FAH" and run install.bat by going into start-accessories-then right click Command Prompt and run as Admin. Then type "cd C:\\users\\|your username|\\FAH" press enter then "install.bat" enter, follow instructions on screen. When that is done create a shortcut of the Client and add the -smp.

After this it should work, this is because Windows 7 doesn't let things run from Program Files without proper permissions, therefore installing it into your User directory bypasses this.

PS: click on accept when UAC asks for permission

Wish they could make it simpler
, oh well hope this helps

Just follow this guide http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinSMPGuideMPICH and make sure you dl the right client. I had problems for a while but that guide helped. http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandeg...-SMP-mpich.exe is the client I used :/.
