Nope, XFX is one of the brands that people tend to stay away from for NOT picking good parts for their video cards, your thinking of Asus. Sapphire is up there with Asus and Gigabyte.

XFX is crap now. I mean real crap. Horror stories aboard the XFX ship
A Powercolor HD7870 PCS+ Myst is cheap as hell and runs INSANE AS HELL!!! Luckily not so much as hot as hell... or else we can call it "Taihiti Triple H Edition" (To powercolor, your "PCS+" is hardly professional, i call 70-80C un-professional)

I wouldn't call that a good alternative, mainly because you can get the HIS version for cheaper, and its considered to be the fastest 7870 made, the 7870 XT is still faster though as the GPU architecture is based on the 79XX series. Buy this one http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100354xtl you wont regret it.

*EDIT*
You should have mentioned your budget to begin with...
Scrounge up about an extra 20P and you can get this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-hd7870dc22gd5v2, in my opinion my second favorite 7870 made.

no XFX...
a Powercolor HD7870 PCS+ Myst or a 7870XT is the downgraded 7900. it performs faster than normal 7870, and of course higher power consuming and heat production.
there will be no new card until Q3 this year from both NVidia and AMD, so I would suggest you to get a card that is as new/powerful as possible within your budget.
Buy early, enjoy early; buy late, you get rebate. But for how much? $30 for 3 quarter of this year? worth it? It's your call...

Save up a little more, and get a quality 7870, you will thank us. Hell, just mow a couple peoples lawn for like 5-10P a pop, and there you go, enough for an ASUS 7870.
