I had a build scheduled to start in the next couple of weeks and was really banking on the 780 Lightning being out of this world, but sadly I hasn't lived up to my expectations. Yes, I bought into the hype but it was fun while it lasted

. With that being said, I am going to go for a lower tier GPU to tide me over until the 800 series comes out in Q1 2014 (or maybe even a Titan Ultra

With that being said, I think I am going to go 770 but I'm not sure which non-ref card is the best and need some opinions! I am open to other suggestions as well for a lower tier GPU, so fire away!

Cheers!

One of my buddies had one day shipping from Newegg and he got it up to about 1250mhz. Mind you, this was before the new bios that came out and I haven't talked to him about it since. My main gripe about the Lightning is the price tag. I can't justify $70+ for a 5-10% gain over the Classified.

I've decided I can wait a little long for my "ultimate" rig with a beefy GPU, and just settle for something lower for now. Besides, if the Titan Ultra comes out and is just destroying, I'll have saved up a bit of money to get that.

well I was asking cuz I'd suggest a classified because i know they have a sheerly ridiculous amount of capacitors.whichas faras I knoiwis the biggest bottleneck for those chips.. I was just suprised to see someone not wanta non ref one.. Asus is aq great company if you decide to go liquid cooling, as they will still honor your warranty if youput stock cooler back on and its not physically damaged
